Texas songwriter and front man of the band Uncle Lucius, Kevin Galloway grew up on the Gulf of Mexico, next to chemical plants and refineries. His father worked on one of those plants. When Kevin is just thirteen years old, a horrible accident almost kills his father. ‘He shouldn’t be alive, but he lived by a miracle.’ The blue collar story is the inspiration for one of the bands biggest successes, Keep The Wolves Away. The song even brought the band back together after their breakup when the song appeared on the TV-show Yellowstone.
Fans of Townes van Zandt and Guy Clark better get to know Kentuckian Dalton Mills. Start off with the bluegrass sounds of his home state Kentucky, combine that with the phrasing and songwriting of one of his biggest inspirations, Guy Clark, and you get close to Dalton’s music. He even wrote a song about Clark, named Shakespeare In Boots. Enjoy this special episode of Countrykoorts!
