#79 Nieuwe Verlangens, MABA by Celina Eceiza

Celina Eceiza (Argentina, 1988) lives and works in Buenos Aires. From October 3, 2026 through January 3, 2027, her solo exhibition Rubyfruit Jungle will be on view at Marres: immersive, tactile environment that unfolds like a pleasure garden filled with textile delights. Created in collaboration with a broad network of craftspeople, the exhibition brings together murals, drawings, garments, sculptures, and textile works into one large-scale installation.

Inspired by a number of works from the Limburg Biënnale 2026, she explains her ideas behind MABA's work Nieuwe Verlangens (translated as New Desires) in relation to Wonne's work Lieve Moeder. The Limburg Biënnale can be seen through August 23, 2026 at Marres in Maastricht and Odapark in Venray.

The Invisible Collection focuses on people's stories about their favorite artwork. It is an online art collection that you cannot see but can hear. Marres harvests stories in which people of all ages and backgrounds share their art experiences.

Vanaf 3 oktober 2026 t/m 3 januari 2027 is haar solotentoonstelling Rubyfruit Jungle te zien bij Marres: een meeslepende, tactiele omgeving die zich ontvouwt als een lusthof vol textiele verrassingen. In samenwerking met een breed netwerk van textielhandwerkers brengt de tentoonstelling muurschilderingen, tekeningen, kledingstukken, sculpturen en textielwerken samen tot één grote installatie.

Geïnspireerd door een aantal werken uit de Limburg Biënnale 2026, vertelt ze over haar idee bij het werk Nieuwe Verlangens van MABA, en de relatie tot het werk 'Lieve Moeder' van Wonne. De Limburg Biënnale is nog te zien tot en met 23 augustus 2026 bij Marres in Maastricht en Odapark in Venray.

De Onzichtbare Collectie richt zich op verhalen van mensen over hun favoriete kunstwerk. Het is een online kunstcollectie die je niet kan zien, maar wel kunt horen. Marres oogst verhalen waarin mensen van alle leeftijden en achtergronden hun kunstervaring delen.
