The European Banking Authority (EBA) plays an important role for financial institutions in Europe, without everyone knowing exactly what they do and how they do it. The new consultation that was published recently by the EBA on the role of the AML/CFT officer at financial institutions was reason to reach out to Carolin Gardner and discuss the roles and powers of the EBA, consultations of the EBA in general and the latest consultation specifically. It was an honour to talk with Mrs. Gardner and on the side also hear about publications of the EBA for the coming months.
