Welcome to this new episode of the Keymoment Podcast. This time Harry speaks to you from Bucharest. This is a country we have been traveling to with groups for years. Participants who have experienced this trip never complain once they return home. Of course, homelessness feels just as lousy and miserable in Amsterdam, just as well, in Bucharest it's a slightly different story.
In this episode, Harry speaks with Ian Tilling, also known as the Crazy Englishman. Fate can give your life the strangest turns. Something like that happened to Ian. He has been living and working in Bucharest for years. It's not a choice. He had no choice. Casa Ioana is a special place. A residential facility where people can return back to themselves. Back to the person they were before they became homeless, with endless and valuable lived experience.
We hope you will share this podcast with your friends, your family, your collegues. It’s important. Homelessness is widespread and it does not discrimate. It can happen to everybody.
You can find Ian Tilling on YouTube. Watch this special video on why he moved to Romania and the wonderful work he is practicing in this beautiful city. I love Bucharest at Christmas. I don’t know another city that has that many Christmas light in the world. Is it a contrast watching the lights and the homeless people out on the streets? Yes, it sure is. But knowing that Samusocial, Casa Ioana and Ian Tilling watch over them is comforting, there is always hope.
Louis Puggaard Muller, a singer song writer from Denmark, living in Amsterdam is joining this group from the Netherlands. As a bonus and a present for Ian, we give you this wonderful song. So don’t shy away from this recording, keep listening.
