Member of European Parliament, author and columnist Assita Kanko in conversation with Dutch professor Ruud Koopmans, research director and professor of sociology and migration research at Humbolt University in Berlin. Like many, she is impressed by his work because he knows how to say and substantiate racy things about migration, integration, religious fundamentalism and extremism like no other. Koopmans wrote, among others, ‘De asielloterij ‘(2023 ) a plea for a new approach to European migration policy and ‘Het vervallen huis van de islam’ (2019) Over de crisis van de islamitische wereld". His work and vision is authentic and ground-breaking. Not surprisingly, the two of them had a fascinating conversation. About the danger of radical islam, European support for undemocratic organizations, failing migration policies and what it is like to swim against the tide.
