Background stories with Alex Walters

Great Plains Conservation: a Conservation First Company

I am talking with Alex Walters, one of the great ambassadors for this very exclusive and safari-chic portfolio. Operating 14 safari camps in the vast open spaces of Botswana, Kenya and Zimbabwe.

Alex started his career as a young man working for the Royal Geographical Society and as many other people got inspired by Sir David Attenborough before he was asked to come and work for Great Plains in 2010.

Great Plains is founded in 2006 by a group of conservationists and headed by legendary filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert, The company works hard to find the right balance between conservation, communities and commerce.

Their mission is to expend natural habitat and creating wildlife corridors between national Parks. This by operarating commercial safari camps in partnership with local communities.

Enjoy listening to the background stories Alex is sharing with us about the vision and conservation work of Great Plains Conservation.
